Photo booth for a school party or graduation: a guide

For a school party or graduation of up to 6 hours, the Comfort photo booth (€375) is a good fit. For a whole day or an evening party, choose Care-Free (€400). On the playground the booth can only go somewhere fully sheltered, so plan for a canopy or a spot indoors.
For a school party or graduation of up to 6 hours, choose Comfort (€375). If the event runs from the afternoon into the evening, Care-Free (€400) is a better fit. Sort out the location first, because on the playground a photo booth can only go somewhere fully sheltered.
A photo booth works so well at school because everyone joins in: pupils, parents, teachers and guests. Nobody has to be able to dance or be the right age. You simply end up standing there together on the spur of the moment, and that sets the tone at a party where many people only half know each other.
Which package should you choose for a school?
| Event | Package | Price |
|---|---|---|
| School party or graduation with a reception, up to 6 hours | Comfort | €375 |
| School party from daytime through to the evening party | Care-Free | €400 |
| Backdrop of your choice, such as the theme of the school party | Care-Free with green screen | €575 |
| Final-year party where digital photos are enough | Social | €250 |
| Graduation in an assembly hall, on the ground floor | Mirrorbooth | €550 |
With Comfort, Care-Free and the Mirrorbooth, prints are unlimited. So a parents' committee doesn't get a bill per photo, which makes it easier to fix the budget in advance. Social doesn't include prints. You'll find the details under all packages and prices, and more about the approach for schools on the page photo booth hire for school and graduation.
Where do you put the booth at school?

- Playground: only under a canopy, lean-to or marquee. Rain, moisture and direct sunlight must not reach the booth. So check where the sun will be at the time of the party too.
- Canteen, gym or assembly hall: the easiest choice, and you don't depend on the weather.
- Mirrorbooth: never outdoors, and only on the ground floor or with a spacious lift. It weighs almost 100 kg, can't go up stairs and needs 3 x 3 m of space.
- Access: we deliver and install. Let us know which gate we can come in through and provide a parking space or loading area, especially if parents are already arriving.
Think about internet as well. Sharing via QR code only works with a connection, and a school network is often closed to visitors. With the internet anywhere option (€9), you don't have to rely on it. 4G is already included with the Mirrorbooth.
How do you get pupils, parents and teachers involved in a school party?
Tie the booth in with the theme of the year. It doesn't have to be expensive:
- Give each class a piece of the set to make. A large open storybook or a painted wall with cut-out faces makes an instant photo opportunity.
- Hang props and dressing-up clothes on a rack where everyone can see them, alongside our hats, wigs, boas and glasses. A few empty frames always go down well.
- Plan set times for each class, with the teacher there too. That way you avoid everyone queuing at once at the end of the party.
- Put the school's logo on the print, or that of the parents' committee or a sponsor. You can also use your own frame or one of our backdrops, matched to the style of the party.

A print is ready in about 10 seconds, so no child goes back to their parents empty-handed. A grandmother who couldn't come along can see the photo via the QR code or the web link.
What works at a graduation?
The mood at a graduation is more formal, but the evening usually ends with a reception. That's where the booth belongs.
- Only open it after the presentation, so nobody leaves the hall during the names.
- If the final-year students wear a cap or gown, ask them to keep it on. Have a board with the year ready as well.
- Have the design made with the name of the school, the course of study and the year. Designer or template, both are possible. For a group photo of the class, a single photo of 10 x 15 cm is often clearer than strips of 5 x 15 cm.
- Show the photos live in the hall with a slideshow: €50 on your own projector or screen, €100 if we bring the screen or projector.
- Turn it into a class album with a guestbook (€35), so pupils and teachers can write a message. With the extra prints by post option (€35), all the prints are sent to you in duplicate afterwards.
What about photos of pupils?
At a school party, it's mostly minors in front of the camera. If the school wants to put the photos on its own website or social media, follow the school's consent policy. You normally receive the digital photos via a web link within two weeks. We don't use customers' photos for promotion without permission. You can read how everything else works under how it works.

What is a photo booth? Also a photobooth or selfie booth
A photo booth is a machine with a camera, a screen and usually a printer, which your guests use to take their own photos and take them home straight away. The same machine is also called a photobooth, selfie booth, selfie pod or photo kiosk. We say photo booth because it's the best known name, even though our booths aren't closed cabins.

Photo booth hire in summer: can it go outdoors?
Yes, a photo booth can go outdoors, but only if fully sheltered in a marquee or under a lean-to or canopy, away from rain, moisture and direct sunlight. The Mirrorbooth always stays indoors.

Why hire a photo booth instead of a photographer?
Hire a photo booth if you want guests to join in and take a print home straight away. A photographer mainly captures the course of your event, and smartphones produce scattered photos that stay with each individual guest.
